Dangote Not Happy With NNPC Proposed Stake Acquisition, Says Kyari.

 



Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Melee Kyari, #SAYS African billionaire and business magnate, #Aliko Dangote, does not want to sell shares in his refinery and petrochemical project under construction in the Lekki Free Zone, Lagos, Nigeria.


Kyari, however, said it is important that the NNPC, as the national oil company, guarantee energy security for the country by “having a say in the board of the refinery”.


The NNPC GMD spoke on Tuesday when he featured in Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ programme.


According to him, the NNPC will take 20 per cent equity in the Dangote Refinery which has the capacity to produce 650,000 bpd per day.

His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma on Tuesday has sworn-in 11 newly appointed Permanent Secretaries into office. 


Governor Hope Uzodimma while addressing them said that their appointment is a testimony of their proven knowledge and competence in their career, stressing that they attained the position on merit after they passed a competitive examination.


"I have come with a new order, which sees merit competence and diligence as the only criteria for attaining position of leadership. Any of you who play politics with his/her job will be treated as a saboteur, flee from corruption and nepotism for you to earn your career in glory". He said.


Responding on behalf of her colleagues (Mrs) Ekenze Edith expressed gratitude for the appointment, assured Gov. Uzodimma of their loyalty and diligence in making sure that all policies of the administration *are* achieved for the development of Imo State.

Oyo State Governor Makinde Dissolves Cabinet.

 



Governor 'Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Tuesday,  announced the dissolution of the state's Executive Council.


Those affected include Chief of Staff (CoS) and  17 Commissioners.

The Cabinet was constituted on August 14, 2019, following  Makinde's historic victory in the March 9,  2019, election.


The remaining Council members who were not affected include the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Head of Service (HOS)  and the Director General of Due Process office.


A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, indicated that Makinde announced the dissolution of the Executive Council after a meeting of the body on Tuesday, which lasted about five hours. 

Governor Makinde, according to the statement, expressed the gratitude of the government and the people of Oyo State to the Council members and wished them well in their future endeavours. 


The governor equally praised the dedication to duty and the commitment of the council members to the cause of taking Oyo State from Poverty to Prosperity.


The statement said: "His Excellency, the Governor of  Oyo State, 'Seyi Makinde, announced the dissolution of the State Executive Council, with effect from Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

"Governor Makinde, after a prolonged meeting of the Council, told members it was time to retool after two years.

"He therefore wished the ex-Commissioners the best in their future endeavours."
